History is made with the Greenwich Market Time Capsule
A big thank you to Greenwich resident Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze and all the Year 3 pupils at James Wolfe School who helped make history by writing letters to the future children of Greenwich. The children wrote about where they lived, what they liked and their wishes for the future. Glenn Tilbrook wrote about how special Greenwich is to him and his family - there have beenTilbrooks in Greenwich since the 1830s. The letters were buried in a designer made time capsule in the new Pavilion next to hte Market, food court in Durnford Street.
Also included was a picture of the market traders and shop owners, before and after pictures of the maket restoration works, a time lapse film of the works and a copy of the Evening Standard. Glenn Tilbrook also added copies of his new CD.
The time capsule was made by market traderTim Barratt of Abstract Iron from stainless steel and designer jeweller Richard Chown engraved a solid silver plate to mark the date. Not to be opened for another 50 years!
